Welcome words

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the Nordic Conference on Digital Health and Wireless Solutions will take place in Oulu, Finland on May 7-8, 2024. It is our great pleasure to heartily welcome you to the conference.

This conference is organized by Digital Health (DigiHealth) and 6G Enabled Sustainable Solutions (6GESS) research programs of the University of Oulu. They combine multidisciplinary research activities in medical fields and health sciences to latest developments in information technology, wireless communication, health economics and energy research.

Oulu is known for being at the forefront of technology innovation. It is a hub for research and development in the fields of digital health and wireless communications. The electronic health records, telemedicine and mobile health services has been in clinical use for more than 25 years. There is active research aiming not only towards new territories like AI, novel sensor technology and edge computing, but also striving for scientific assessment of the impact of these innovations in real life.

This event will be an excellent opportunity for professionals, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss and share insights on the latest developments. The current trends will be discussed with invited lectures as well as submitted papers and posters. The keynotes will cover a wide Nordic and International perspective to these topics. The conference themes discussed in detail in another section of this Call for Papers will give you an ample opportunity to present your work to an expert audience, no matter if your research is targeted towards technology, informatics, medicine, health sciences, education, or economics.

Moreover, there will be excellent opportunities to visit the company demos and the new premises of the Oulu University Hospital under construction, the future smart hospital OYS2030. Planned social events will give enough time for inspiring conversations with fellow researchers.

While attending the event, participants may wish to explore Oulu’s beautiful natural surroundings in their own time. The city and its surroundings offer good opportunities for relaxation and leisure activities, including nature walks, wildlife spotting, and cultural experiences. Please note that the participants are encouraged to make their own arrangements for these leisure activities.

We warmly welcome you to join us in Oulu and present your work in this cutting-edge event!

Warm regards,
